Weather Policy
Cold Weather: Practices will be held on all clear days regardless of the temperature. Swimmers should bring/wear proper athletic shoes (tennis shoes, not flip flops) any time they are not sure if the water temperature will permit swimming. Anytime the air temperature is below 70 degrees (as reported by the local time and temperature 456-5501) plan on the possibility of a land practice. In all cases, swimmers should always bring swim suits.
Rain: A practice will be cancelled for rain if it is below 65 degrees 20 minutes prior to the practice start time. (Rain and 65 degrees at 9am does not mean the second practice is cancelled, only the first practice.) Practices will be held in the rain if there is no danger of thunderstorms. In some cases rain may be hard enough to cancel practice, every effort will be made to update the team website whenever a practice is cancelled. You may also call the coach at 456-5810. There will be a message on her phone if the practice is cancelled.
Thunderstorms: A practice will be cancelled if there is a thunderstorm within 20 minutes of the practice start time. (A thunderstorm at 9am does not mean the second practice is cancelled, only the first practice.) Every effort will be made to update the team website whenever a practice is cancelled. You may also call the coach at 456-5810. There will be a message on her phone if the practice is cancelled.
